Olympic singles: Nole will take the Gold

So, I guess it's that time.

Let's make some Olympic tennis predictions. I will make different ones for each event. We'll start with the men. Nole has a tough draw, but I feel like I can say that about so many players. This field is stacked. Nole plays DelPo in the first round. But let's not forget that DelPo is not the same player he was when he beat Nole for the bronze medal in the 2012 Olympic Games.

So, I'm going to say that Nole will come through his section after a tough opening round. He could face Jack Sock in the round of 16 and Jo Willy in the quarters, but I'm taking Nole for that section.

The next section is Rafa's and do we really know anything Rafa right now. Here's what I know: his section isn't too bad. Gilles Simon and Borna Coric play in the first round, but I just don't see anyone in this section beating a healthy Rafa. David Goffin is there, but still I like Rafa. I'm going to figure Rafa is healthy or he wouldn't be here.

This third section is loaded, well sort of. There's some decent players, and quite a few of them here. I really like Gael Monfils to make it through. He has Vasek Pospisil in the first round, but Vasek has been awful this year in singles. Marin Cilic has Grigs in his first round. It doesn't matter if Cilic wins the match, because we all know he will find a way to choke along the way like he did at Wimbledon (By the way Marin, your coach wasn't the problem - look in the mirror). Kei Nishikori is also here, and he did play well in Canada. However, I just like how Monfils is playing and I think he could have a real shot at a medal.

The last section is Andy Murray's. It's not an easy opening round, but I don't think it's a very difficult one either. He plays Viktor Troicki and In just can't see Andy losing to him. Steve Johnson, David Ferrer and Benoit Paire are also seeds in this section. In other words Andy's got it pretty easy.

Semifinals: I like Nole over Rafa and Andy over Gael. I know I'm really going out on a limb picking the top seeds (there's more to come in the other draws).

Medals: I think Nole will beat Andy for the Gold. Andy has an easier draw, but Nole played last week and I actually think that will help him, while Andy may be a little rusty at the start of this tourney and it may cost him. Not to mention I think Andy will be playing more dubs than Nole. In the bronze match I like Gael to shock the world, so to speak, and take a medal over Rafa. Certainly Rafa's lack of match play will catch up to him at some point and why not in the medal matches?

Olympic singles: Serena on a mission for Gold

Can anybody beat Serena at the Olympics?

I actually think they can, but I don't think they will. Serena has a very tough draw, but I think she will find a way through it. Let's look at each section.

Serena's section is tough. She has to face Dasher in the first round. To me, that has three-set battle written all over it. That's definitely a match I'm looking forward to. Having said that, if Serena plays well she wins easily. I just think she will have some rust since she hasn't played a hardcourt match since late March, early April. The second round could see Alize Cornet waiting for Serena. Somebody in Rio does not like Serena, but I still think Serena pulls it out and gets a little revenge for the two losses in 2014. Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki, Roberta Vinci are all in Serena's quarter. Petra and Woz could play each other in the second round. The usual question is which Petra shows up? Will this be an inspired Wimbeldon version of Petra? Probably not.

The second quarter has Mugz and Venus as the top seeds. Mugz has to play Jelena Jankovic in the first round. Venus has to play Kirsten Flipkens. I like Venus to make it through that match, but I'm going with Mugz winning a quarterfinal showdown.

The next section has Madison Keys, Carla Suarez Navarro and Aga in it. I'm just not feeling Aga's game right now. CSN has to play Ana Ivanovic in the first round, but I like CSN to get through that. I think Maddie will get it done and make the semis and have a shot at a medal.

Angie, Kuz, Johanna Konta and Sammy Stosur are the seeds in the next section. Sammy's never played well playing for her country, and after that Wimbledon match against Genie I'm not sure I like Konta's chances either. Ah Genie. I would love to see her medal her, but she has Sloane in the first round. While I do think she will beat Sloane, getting past Angie in the second round is another story. Angie will come through this section.

Semifinals: Serena beats Mugz, in a great battle, and Angie knocks off Maddie.

Medals: Serena takes the Gold - again. I like Mugz to take the bronze over Maddie.

Olympic doubles: The Murray Brothers got this

This is one of the few times you'll see me picking the dubs. This isn't just any dubs - it's Olympic dubs and there's going to be some fun matches.

The top seeds just happen to be the top doubles team in the world, so good luck to everyone trying to beat them. PHH and Nicolas Mahut don't have it easy as they battle Juan-Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in the first round. Stevie Johnson and Jack Sock or Sockson (works for me) could be wiating in the second round for the top seeds. Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes, Lukas Rosol and Radek Stepanek and David Ferrer and RBA are also in this section. I'd be a fool if I didn't go with team Mabert (I know they just keep getting worse).

The second section has Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares in it, another really good regular-tour dubs team. They could face Nole and Zimo (I'm not attempting to spell his whole name) in the second round. Nole should stick to singles anyway. Mergea and Tecau are also in this section, and certainly have a shot. But you have to go with the Brazilians, right?

Rafa and Marc Lopez have played dubs before, and play it well. So, don't be surprised if they do well here. In fact, this section is weak and I'm picking them to make the semis, after a tough win over Gael Monfils and Jo Willy in the quarters.

The Murrays are the top seed in the fourth section, and I like their chances. I also like Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil (Pospor) to make it to the quarters. I have to go with the brothers to get it done.

Semifinals: Let's go with Mabert over Melo and Soares, and the Murrays over Nadez.

Medals: I think the brothers Murray will win the Gold, what a great moment it would be for that family. I like Rafa and Lopez to win the bronze.
