TK's Picks: Pliskova, Djokovic will win Australian Open

It's time for my predictions for this year's Australian Open.

I'll start with the women. I'm not buying Serena for this slam (one of the few times). I believe she's not in her best shape and isn't ready for it as evidenced by her play in Auckland.

So, I think it is time for Pliskova to shine brightly. I have her beating Mugz in the final in what will be a great match between two big hitters.

I have Mugz taking out Kerber in the quarters, maybe the beginning of the fall of Kerber, and Halep in the semis. Halep will once again make a run only to come up short. Is she the new Aga? I also have Halep beating Svitolina in the quarters.

Speaking of Aga, I think she will lose in the quarters to Pliskova in a thriller. I know everyone keeps saying that Pliskova has never beaten Aga, but there's a first time for everything, right?

Pliskova will then beat Wozniacki in the semifinals in straights and will be beaming with confidence by that time. I also have Woz taking down Safarova, who will beat Serena in the second round (you heard it here first).

For the men, it will be business as usual when it's all said and done. Nole will defeat Murray in four sets. It's groundhog day all over again.

Nole will beat Goffin in the quarters in straights and Raonic in the semis in 4. I have Raonic defeating Zverev in the quarters in a five-set thriller.

Murray will beat Fed (of course he's going to get to the quarters) in the quarters and then Kyrgios in the semis. It's time for Kyrgios to make a big run in his home slam. He will defeat Sock in the quarters.

I'm looking forward to the tournament. It should be an exciting two weeks.
